SAFETY AND HEALTH

Toronto is a quite large city and safe especially compared to large cities in United States. The Toronto downtown area and most of surrounding suburbs are quite safe. Neighborhoods to be a little bit more careful in is Jane-Finch, Regent Park, Parkdale and Morningside Avenue. Some parks such as Allan Gardens and Trinity Bellwoods should be avoided during night time.

In case of emergency (police, fire, ambulance) please call 911. Toronto has a large population of homeless people but occassions of violence or aggressive behavior is rare. Some other friendly advice would be to be especially careful when getting off the streetcars running in the city. Tap water in Toronto is perfectly fine to drink.
