London is considered to be a safe city to visit but you may be advised to watch out for pickpockets and bag snatchers, especially in the most crowded areas in central London.
The drinking water in London is perfectly safe to drink.

There are around 7,5 million inhabitants in the city of London. (12-14 million in the whole metropolitan London, depending on which areas to include.
AREAS
In addition to the ancient city of London, the city has been divided into 32 London boroughs. The major and most well-known areas are the City of London, known as a financial and commercial center, the Docklands area, and the West End. Other areas worth mentioning are East End and East London known for its high immigrant population.

The British currency is the pound sterling. GBP = Great British Pound. Euro Is accepted at some major department stores and shops but rarely used across Britain.
Current coins in use are:1 penny, 2 pence, 5 pence, 10 pence, 20 pence, 50 pence, 1 pound, and 2 pounds. Current bank notes are: The 5 pound note, the 10 pound note, the 20 pound note and the 50 pound note.
Banks and travel agencies in general offer the best rates, places to avoid are currency exchange kiosks in central London and major stations.
